MOBILE, Ala. – Cal quarterback Davis Webb was one of 12 players that the Reese's Senior Bowl announced Monday have accepted invitations to the annual contest that showcases college football's top seniors. The 2017 game will take place at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile on Saturday, Jan. 28 (1:30 pm CT/11:30 am PT). NFL Network will provide live television coverage the game while ESPN2 will televise practices leading up to the contest beginning Monday, Jan. 23.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to play at the prestigious Senior Bowl," Webb said. "I'm focused right now on finishing my senior season strong with my Cal teammates but also excited that I will have the opportunity to showcase my skills by playing with the nation's top seniors in Mobile in January."
BERKELEY --- California women's golf head coach Nancy McDaniel has been selected as one of the newest members of the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Hall of Fame, the organization announced today. McDaniel will be inducted as the 49th member of the WGCA Hall of Fame on Sunday, December 11, 2016 during the organization's Induction Ceremony at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.
The founding coach of the Golden Bears program, McDaniel has held the post in Berkeley since the 1995-96 season and is in the midst of her 22nd campaign. McDaniel has led Cal to 17 consecutive NCAA Regionals appearances (2000-16) during her tenure, advancing as a team to the NCAA Championships nine times (2001-06, 2011, 2014-15) and finishing in the top five three straight years (2004-06).
