The Bears began their season with a bang. Cal was without Preseason All-American Ivan Rabb, he was said to be day-to-day with a sprained toe suffered from the secret scrimmage game against Saint Mary’s. The Bears did not struggle in this game and jumped out to a 40-28 lead in the first half. Roger Moute a Bidias led all scorers with 10 Points on 4/6 shooting and 1/3 from 3. He also added on 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Roger also had an emphatic dunk on a fast break that got Haas rocking.

The Bears did not let up in the second half. Kameron Rooks was the anchor on the defensive end, erasing shots from the weak side and cleaning up the defensive boards. Cal jumped out to a 20 point lead with 11:47 left to play in the game and that sealed the game for the Bears. From that point, the Bears did not let up their lead, in fact they extended it ending the game with a score of 82-53.
