Cal faces the stiffest test yet to maintaining their unbeaten home record. The unbeaten Washington Huskies come to Berkeley with playoff hopes and conference title aspirations still very much alive. Kickoff was announced today for 7:30 p.m. Pacific, with the game being broadcast on ESPN.
Cal is currently 3–0 at home, 1–0 in Australia games, and 0–4 on the road. Cal’s best hope toward bowl eligibility is keeping their sterling home record intact—the Bears have four games left, three of which are in Memorial Stadium.
Washington is undoubtedly the toughest game left on their schedule. The Huskies sit at 8–0 and have vanquished much of their competition, including squeaking out a 31–24 win in Utah last week. Washington demolished Oregon and Stanfurd by a combined score of 114–27 and have only the Apple Cup (no other teams can realistically win the North) and the Pac-12 title game standing between them and a conference championship.
Can Cal pull off another huge win? They have already knocked off a then-ranked Texas team and a top 25–caliber Utah squad. What do they have left?
