The California Golden Bears won’t be favored by double digits much this season, so this weekend’s game up at Corvallis pretty much amounts to a must-win. 3-2 Cal heads up to 1-3 Oregon State to try and stay on track for a bowl bid as the bye week beckons. The Bears opened as ten point favorites against the Beavers according to Vegas Insider.
After years of inexplicable struggles with the Beavers, Cal has taken the last two from Oregon State pretty decisively by two scores or more. This year’s version of the Beavers is spunky (a close road loss to Minnesota, a competitive home loss to Boise), but reverted back to bad habits to start Pac-12 play via a 41 point thumping from Colorado. Cal really has to have this win. It’s the only game left on their schedule that isn’t a decided coin flip.
Cal fans, your thoughts on the line?
