Ugh.

Cal suffered a host of injuries before and during the USC contest. Here’s what we can report up to this point.

  • Cal radio’s Todd McKim reported that Aaron Cochran sustained a broken foot. Cochran was seen early in the game with a walking boot. If that is confirmed, Cochran is probably out for the season. We will know for sure by the end of the weekend most likely. Patrick Mekari took his place and finished the game.
  • Darius Allensworth did not play due to his hamstring injury. Nor did Chad Hansen with his ankle injury.
  • Brandon Singleton also had an injury he apparently sustained that did not allow him to play tonight. It forced Cal to rely more on snaps from Jordan Veasy and Vic Wharton. Wharton did not practice at all this week.
  • Allensworth’s replacement Josh Drayden sustained an injury in the first half and had to be taken to the locker room. ESPN reported it was a shoulder. Chibuzo Nwokocha finished the game.
