The California Golden Bears went to war with the Oregon Ducks, like we used to in the pre–Chip Kelly era of my undergrad. Tonight, however, it felt a little less like two great teams going to war and two struggling teams just failing to execute.
It took two overtimes and another defensive stand, but the Bears prevailed for the 52–49 victory.
As soon as Cal began to struggle in the third quarter, the complaints—be they deserved or not—were ubiquitous among Cal fans. Win, lose, or draw, it became apparent at that point that the grades will be pretty low this week. Let's see if that holds true or not.
