Cal basketball recruiting: Ira Lee concludes visits, decision coming this week!

Can Cal get a new marquee big?

NCAA Basketball: California at Washington Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Cal’s primary big man target is likely going to make his decision soon. Power forward Ira Lee is down to three Pac-12 programs and will likely make a choice in the next month or so.

UPDATE! THIS WEEK!

Lee narrowed his three schools to Arizona, Cal and Oregon a few months ago, and concluded his visits this weekend. Lee took his trip to Cal first, and then followed it up with consecutive trips to Oregon and Arizona in successive weeks. A decision is expected soon into the early signing period.

Cal definitely needs a big man in this class. Kameron Rooks and Kingsley Okoroh are both juniors. Ivan Rabb is likely in his final season at Cal. Marcus Lee will play in the 2017-18 season, but the Bears will only have him for a year.

Lee and Troy Brown are the two biggest prospects left on the big board for the Bears. Land one or either or both, and Cuonzo Martin will have struck gold on two of three straight recruiting classes for the Golden Bears.
