Last year, College Gameday spotlighted Cal in their trip to Utah. Both teams ranked. Both teams 5-0. It was one of the most anticipated Cal games in recent history. However, as most Cal fans know, it was one of the most disappointing defeats of all time. In what ended up being a sloppy offensive affair for the Bears, Jared Goff threw a career high five interceptions and Cal only lost by six. It was one of those what if games that separated the Bears from entering the national stage.
This year, Utah has a new starting quarterback and running backs along with a host of new offensive and defensive faces, but they’re still coming in with high expectations. The Utes come into Berkeley undefeated in hopes of keeping their Pac-12 South title hopes on track. This year I think Cal will be hungry for revenge on our home turf. It should be a big game!
