One scratch from the overall big Cal recruiting picture: JUCO linebacker David Luafatasaga is not going to be in the mix for the Bears. The linebacker cancelled his official trip to Cal this weekend and is headed to Oxford this weekend.
LB David Luafatasaga confirmed with our Yancy Porter that he's going to Ole Miss this weekend and not #Cal

So currently with Cameron Goode secure, the Bears have only one commitment at linebacker for 2016. Cal would probably like to secure one more guy at this position, but it remains to be seen who they can snag. They have some limits on who they could probably get at this point.
One option the Bears have explored is Hillsboro (Ore.) linebacker Kaelin Himphill, who holds offers from Arizona, Oregon State, Utah and West Virginia. It should be noted that the Bears haven't extended an offer yet. Cal has sent Garret Chachere up to Oregon twice to visit Himphill, and he is the most active target at the linebacker spot going forward.
Great home visit with Cal Berkeley! Thank you @CALCoachChach for coming by, safe travels back home! pic.twitter.com/mKNeqPGFUh

The other prospect is another Texas linebacker in Isaiah Bean, who apparently took an official trip to Berkeley this week! Bean got a Cal offer earlier this week, and might be the last linebacking target the Bears try and get for the 2016 class. Bean also holds offers from UNLV, Fresno, Kansas and Illinois.

One of the biggest targets left on the board is Norco (Ca.) athlete Victor Viramontes, who is down to Cal, Arizona and Utah. Cal was on Victor early after his decommitment from Michigan, but they have to fight off other Pac-12 programs. Viramontes was offered by Arizona this week and is checking out the Wildcats mid-week before taking his final official visit to Cal. Viramontes figures to be a National Signing Day decision.
