Boss Tagaloa to visit Cal midweek, with Michigan, USC, UCLA, Washington in pursuit

Does Cal have a special surprise come National Signing Day?

The Internet

Four star defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa (happy birthday!) is perhaps the best local prospect that the California Golden Bears have been pursuing for awhile. The Concord (Ca.) De La Salle defensive lineman has been pursued by all the big Pac-12 powerhouses, with the Washington Huskies, UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans leading the way. The other big program to watch is Michigan, who have been courting Boss non-stop, but it might be hard to pull Tagaloa from the West Coast.

After Tagaloa put the Bears in his top 12, the Bears have been quiet. Now a week before National Signing Day, Tagaloa will take what should be the final of his many unofficial visits to Berkeley. Could Cal be sneaking into the picture at the eleventh hour? More

Tagaloa is coming off of a visit to Michigan this past week, and will conclude his official visits with a trip to USC. Washington already got a visit the week before the Michigan trip, and expect UCLA to be in the mix at the end.

Cal hasn't had a dominant defensive lineman in a long time and could sell immediate playing time to Tagaloa. He could stay close to home and play for a program on the rise and spearhead a young and growing defense that is complemented by one of the most explosive offenses in college football. Can the Bears make the final push and land their biggest local commitment since Jared Goff?
