Time for another recruiting battle between Cal and UCLA! How does this end?
UCLA has been pursuing Baldwin Park offensive tackle and Cal commit Francisco "Paco" Perez for the longest time, and the Bruins put on the full recruiting pitch with in-home visits and the official trip last week. All signs are that Paco really enjoyed the trip, as offensive line coach and ace recruiter Adrian Klemm got right to work.

The good news is that Perez did not leave Westwood a UCLA commit. The Golden Bears are going to be the ones who will get last call here.
Paco is headed to Cal this weekend as part of a huge visit weekend. It appears as if Cal will be the final visit, and Perez will make a decision between the two programs soon thereafter.
Of all the commits being pursued by other prospects, Perez is the one Cal really would want to hold onto. The Bears need a huge offensive line class to prepare for the 2016 exodus (three starters graduating), and they need a bunch of big bodies to prepare for the future. It'll be important for Sonny Dykes and Brandon Jones to stress to Perez on the official visit that he will be right in the mix to start a year from now, because the Bears need the nasty that Perez would provide on the line.
