WATCH: Cal basketball walk-on senior Brendan Glapion receives scholarship

Go Brendan and Go Bears!

Brendan Glapion is one of those walk-on college basketball players you root for. Straight from San Francisco, he spent the first few years of his college basketball existence bouncing away from Seattle University and Cosumnes River College before walking on at Cal for the past two seasons. Glapion has seen some decent time in Cal blowouts, but his value comes in practice, where he helps scout opponents and gives the regular rotation players an idea of the type of defense you expect to see in-game.

This past weekend Cuonzo Martin rewarded Glapion with the remaining Cal scholarship for this season. He was appropriately mobbed by his teammates for his efforts.

Glapion is finishing his degree in political science. He's hoping to get into law school, so he can spend the next four years of his life hanging out at California Golden Blogs like the rest of the law students who end up here.

(Also, this awesome decision should have no bearing on future recruiting, with Glapion set to graduate this spring.)

Congrats Brendan! Go Bears!
