Three-star cornerback Lorenzo Burns will visit Cal on January 22nd, and it appears as if his final decision will be between Arizona, Cal, and Colorado. Burns would be a nice pickup for Dykes, who has already put together a class consisting multiple lockdown corners. While many fans are anxious for a safety commit, Burns doesn't fit that mold, as he is only 5-10, 160 pounds, meaning he would most likely join Josh Drayden, Camryn Bynum, and Traveon Beck as the lockdown corners in the class, and Dykes would have to look elsewhere for a safety prospect.
Nonetheless, Burns is a very intriguing prospect with electric speed. His Hudl lists a 4.34 40-yard dash time, and while that may or may not be completely accurate, it is apparent from his highlights that he is tantalizing prospect who could be a huge addition to the Cal secondary.
As it stands, Arizona is the favorite among the three schools to land him. Burns has already visited Arizona multiple times, but will visit both Cal and Colorado by the end of January. While Cal is pretty stacked at the cornerback position in this class, the last few years have taught us that there is truly never enough bodies to go around on the defensive side of the football.
