The Bears did not have a great start to the game. They were out-hustled and out-played thoroughly in the first 10 minutes of the game. Cal was led in scoring by Tyrone Wallace who had 10 points (4-10), 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Ivan Rabb dominated the boards with 6 rebounds. Jaylen Brown was limited to 4 minutes of play due to 2 early fouls. Cal limited their TOs to just 5 in the first half, but shot 37% from the field (13-35). The Bears were hot early from beyond the arc, but cooled down significantly to end the half 38% from 3PT.
The Bears got off to a fast start in the second out jumping out on a 10-0 run, but that success was not maintained. The Bears struggled to shoot from the Free Throw line 53% (9-17), and coughed up the ball 15 times. This was not a good game for the Bears, and a terrible showing in Cal's first matchup against our bitter rivals.
