Cal football recruiting target Lil'Jordan Humphrey down to Bears and Longhorns

Cal could land a huge offensive weapon in Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who will make his decision after taking his official visits.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Three-star athlete Lil'Jordan Humphrey is down to Cal and Texas, and is scheduled to visit both schools at the end of January before making his decision near National Signing Day. Although the favorite among the two to land him is Texas, where his teammate Obi Eboh is committed, Humphrey has had Cal near the top of his list for quite awhile, and Cal is definitely in the running.

Humphrey could contribute to any team in a number of ways, as he plays running back in high school but possesses great size at 6-5, 200 lbs. A bit tall to play running back, it is highly possible he could transition into a possession receiver and redzone target at the next level, but his ability to carry the ball could give him the ability to be a multifaceted threat in college. Cal has been looking for explosive athletes in this class, as it recently added Melquise Stovall and is still in the running for Zion Echols. Adding Humphrey and Echols to the mix could present a dangerous trio moving forward.

While it will certainly take a lot to pry him away from his hometown team, Humphrey could develop into a key cog in the Bear Raid for years to come.

Oh, and if Cuonzo ever runs short on shooting guards, Humphrey plays shooting guard in high school as well.
