Jared Goff threw two touchdowns against Washington to tie the all-time career passing Cal touchdown record of 64 scores over two and a quarter years, matching Kyle Boller.
Goff's first beauty went to Bryce Treggs down the sideline to put Cal up 20-7 just before halftime.

Goff's second touchdown that tied the record went to Kenny Lawler to lift the Bears to what felt like a strong (hah) 27-7 lead. Goff only needs a touchdown next week against Washington State to break the record.

Goff's biggest play of the game wasn't even a pass though. It was his 4th down and 1 clinching run where he bounced off one tackler and stretched for the first down with under 2 minutes left that allowed Cal to kneel and clinch victory.
ICYMI, @JaredGoff16 takes matters in his own hands w/ the game on the line & #Cal now 4-0 for the 1st time in 8 yrs. pic.twitter.com/7D8VkojxXg

As good as Goff was, it was the Cal defense that made the biggest impact, forcing five turnovers on the game. That included a dominant performance from Kyle Kragen, who found his way into the UW backfield plenty.

The Damariay Drew clinching interception was the final capper, ending a potential Washington game-winning drive.

How important is it to have a defense that makes plays? Cal forced 13 turnovers in 2013 (116th in FBS) and 17 turnovers in 2014 (94th). In 2015 through 4 games? Cal has forced 14 turnovers. 1st in FBS.
