Daniel Lasco questionable with hip injury for Cal vs. Texas; Vic Enwere could start

Hm.

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Not much has changed regarding the condition of Cal starting running back Daniel Lasco for Saturday's game at Austin. Sonny Dykes didn't have much to say at his final media availability for Texas; Lasco is still improving through the week and feeling better, but he is taking a wait and see approach. Lasco injured his hip against San Diego State and it's still unclear how ready he'll be for kickoff on Saturday.

If Lasco is held out of Saturday's game, expect Vic Enwere to take the bulk of the carries as the main running back, with Khalfani Muhammad becoming the second option and Tre Watson the next man up. While Enwere is probably the likely Cal starting running back in 2016 and will also be making a Texas reunion, he has never carried the football more than seven times in one Cal football game. Muhammad has more experience with a feature back role, carrying the ball 11 times against Arizona last season and in the double digits most of his freshman season.

Brian Farley will start at left tackle, Matt Anderson at kicker.

Cal will fly out to Texas later today after a brief practice Friday morning.
