The schedule was released today and there are not many surprises. No LA trip, but we already knew that. The only surprise is the amount of nationally televised games this season. Even that isn't really a surprise. 17 on ESPN and Fox Sports 1 combined, the rest coming on Pac-12 Network. Our first Pac-12 game is against Colorado at home, which will be a good test for the team.
Here's an excerpt from the press release from the athletics department today:
BERKELEY – Every regular-season California men’s basketball game will be televised during the 2015-16 season, including 10 appearances on ESPN, 13 on Pac-12 Networks and another seven contests on FOX Sports 1. The Pac-12 Conference announced the league’s schedule along with game times and television information on Thursday.
Each of the Golden Bears’ first four regular-season games, including the opener vs. Rice Nov. 13, will be shown on Pac-12 Networks, while both contests of the Las Vegas Invitational in Orleans Arena Nov. 26-27 will be on FOX Sports 1.
Cal’s remaining nonconference home games will all air on Pac-12 Networks, with the road matchup at Wyoming Dec. 5 on the CBS Sports Network and the visit to Virginia Dec. 22 on ESPN2.
The Bears begin their Pac-12 slate on New Year’s Day in Haas Pavilion vs. Colorado (8 p.m.) and host Utah Jan. 3 (4:30 p.m.). Pac-12 Networks will broadcast both games.
Cal sports a three-game homestand in early February, with Stanford (Feb. 6, 1 p.m., ESPN2), Oregon (Feb. 11, 6 p.m., ESPN2) and Oregon State (Feb. 13, 3:30 p.m., Pac-12) all paying a visit to Berkeley.
The final two home contests feature UCLA on Thursday, Feb. 25 (6 p.m., ESPN2) and USC on Sunday, Feb. 28(5 p.m., FOX Sports 1). The Bears conclude the regular season at Arizona (March 3, 6 p.m., ESPN or ESPN2) and Arizona State (March 5, 5 p.m., ESPN2).
All times below are Pacific. Games below that are bolded are home games.
