A little bit of scheduling magic by Cuonzo Martin and crew. They're getting a really marquee matchup to wrap up their non-conference campaign at Haas. Defending Atlantic 10 champions Davidson are headed to Berkeley just after Christmas.
Cal will host Davidson on December 28th as part of its non-conference schedule, source told @CBSSports. Good game for both sides.

The big question is whether former Davidson star and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry will show up to watch his college team play! The Curry family is probably the most popular sports family in America right now, so it'd be a good press opportunity to have an NBA champion show up. Cal had Klay Thompson and James Harden come to recent Cal basketball games featuring their Pac-12 squads, but Curry would be an even bigger draw. Good call by the Cal basketball schedulers to give Curry that opportunity.
(The Warriors are slated to play on Christmas Day at home against the Cavaliers, so there is the possibility Golden State might be on a homestand for this game. Stay tuned.)
Other games we know of from the non-conference schedule: Cal will play Rice in the season opener, will play San Diego State and either West Virginia or Richmond in the Las Vegas Invitational Thanksgiving week, and will head to Virginia just before Christmas. Cal will start their conference schedule right after the Davidson matchup with home games against Colorado and Utah.
