Cal has been stacking defensive line recruits in the 2016 class (Evan Weaver, Russell Becker, Tevin Paul and Chris Yaghi are current commits), and they are looking to add another one in Chinedu Udeogu. Cal is a little bit late to the party however, as Udeogu had previously been offered by schools such as East Carolina, Yale, and Rutgers, who figure to be his top three schools at the moment. However, Udeogu is very impressed with Cal's business school, according to Brian Dohn of Scout.com. Initially, Udeogu planned on making a late-jury decision, but the offer from Cal caused him to push it back to early September.

Udeogu has also recently received an offer from Pittsburgh as well as increased interest from Maryland, the hometown school. The favorite to land Udeogu at the moment is Rutgers, however, Udeogu has prioritized academics in his recruitment, which means Cal will likely have a good shot at landing him.
Udeogu has a nice frame at 6-5, 245 pounds, and could definitely add weight before he hits the field. Udeogu is also versatile on the line, as he has the ability to rush the edge as well up the middle. Ideally, Udeogu would put on 20 or so pounds before he hit campus, but that shouldn't be too big of a problem.
Cal will have to make a big push to get Udeogu, as Rutgers seems to be a huge favorite. Hopefully, playing for an up-and-coming program that is the number one public university in the world is too good of an opportunity to pass up.
HIghlights:
