We have starters!

Here are the quick notes from today's Cal press conference.

Brian Farley, Chris Borrayo, Dominic Granado, Jordan Rigsbee, Steven Moore will be your starting offensive line against Grambling State.

Granado found his way into the starting center position in the middle of camp and has performed well enough that Sonny Dykes will keep him there for Grambling State. Rigsbee is currently the backup center if Granado struggles. Right now he’s slotted at his typical right guard spot, where Dykes would prefer to keep him all year.

Brian Farley has beaten off challenges from Aaron Cochran to maintain his spot as the starting left tackle. Cochran has solidified himself as the third tackle. Semisi Uluave looks like the 3rd guard and is battling with Patrick Mekari. Vinnie Johnson and Kamryn Bennett are competing to be the 4th tackle in the rotation. Hopefully it doesn’t get to that.

Stefan McClure and Damariay Drew are healthy and saw a lot of snaps in practice. McClure is being brought back slowly but is expected to be ready for the season opener. Griffin Piatt is taking some time to get back. Dykes was noncommittal about naming a starter.

Bryce Treggs had a full day of action after being slowed last week. All systems go there.

Jalen Jefferson and Hardy Nickerson are looking like the linebackers who will start, but expect plenty of interchanging.

Kyle Kragen is stable as one of the starting defensive ends. The other side is still being settled. DeVante Wilson is starting to come into his own, Todd Barr and Noah Westerfield are enjoying good finishes to camp.

The kicking competition goes on, although Dykes is happy with the performance of Matt Anderson and Noah Beito.
