The California Golden Bears could be wrapping up the bulk of their recruiting class before the season even kicks off come September 5th. They landed their 18th commitment of the 2016 recruiting class when JUCO center A.J. McCollum made his verbal to Cal. A local product of the City College of San Francisco (by way of Aloha, Oregon), McCollum made his trip to Berkeley yesterday and was quick to pull the trigger.
I am blessed to say that I've committed to play football at Cal!! #GoBears

Cal has blue collar right across the top of their weight room and I get to wear some blue and gold again. #FeelsLikeHome

247Sports has McCollum ranked as this year's best junior college center, a top 25 California JUCO prospect, and a top 100 junior college prospect. McCollum becomes the fourth offensive linemen to join this year's Cal class, right along with Jake Curhan, Daniel Juarez and Francisco Perez. It figures that McCollum is needed to stockpile a pretty thin position at center. Stability at the position is paramount to any type of steadiness and success in the Tony Franklin System.

Welcome to Cal A.J.! GO BEARS!
