Cal basketball has wrapped up their 2015 recruiting class with a commitment from a three star forward out of Los Angeles, reports Josh Gershon of Scout. Roman Davis from Windward made his commitment to Cal today and will join the team for the 2015 season. Davis also had offers from Arizona State, Boston College and Vanderbilt (according to Scout). At 6'8, 195 pounds, Davis can serve as a backup power forward for Ivan Rabb and the rest of the Cal big rotation.
2015 Roman Davis committed to Cal this morning-- he had his first individual workout and met Jabari, Jordan, and Brandon Chauca-- (1/2)

Davis has been looking at Cal/talking to staff since Montgomery days in 2013-- says he chose ultimately because of "family-oriented" feeling

Davis does have a lot of development to do before he has a college hoops ready body, but he does possess some nice skills in his tape. He has nice finishing moves near the basket and seems like one of those players who can crash inside for offensive rebounds and putbacks over time.
This also probably means that Davon Dillard won't be coming to Cal this year. Whatever his situation is with the NCAA, it appears like it wasn't resolved in time for him to join the Bears in the fall--Cal is out of scholarship spots for this class. I'm not sure what his path would be to joining the Bears at this point, but let's imagine that he won't be a part of the team's 2015 plans.
Asked Davon Dillard if he'll be at #Cal in 2015. His response: "No comment."
