Cal basketball will certainly be tested plenty of times next season both in-season and offseason. They play the defending Pac-12 champions Arizona Wildcats twice. They upgrade to two matchups with the Utah Utes next season as opposed to one. They also have to play the Oregon Ducks twice, so that's six battles with potentially the three best Pac-12 foes for next season. It will be good testing ground for Tyrone Wallace, Ivan Rabb, Jaylen Brown and company.
The big news is the Bears will only play UCLA once, but it's at home--there will be no road trip to Los Angeles this season. It figures that Cal will play UCLA & USC on the road the next season in 2016-17. The other teams that Cal will face only once next season.
The nonconference schedule has not been fully released. We do know Cal will play at Virginia, at Wyoming and a host of good teams in Las Vegas.
