Cal has landed a late commitment for the 2015 football class at a much needed position. Khari Vanderbilt took his time to figure out where he wanted to play his college football, and the San Jose City College safety has picked the local Golden Bears.

Vanderbilt was originally committed to BYU for quite some time, but eventually decided to reopen his recruitment on the eve of National Signing Day. Getting him to Cal will be crucial for continuing to augment their secondary depth.
Cal has loaded up on defensive backs who can make an impact in the 2015 class. Antoine Albert, Malik Psalms, Evan Rambo, Billy McCrary III, and Derron Brown already make up a group on the secondary.
Here are the rankings for Vanderbilt.
- 247Sports: Three stars (84), 111th best JUCO prospect, 11th best safety, 31st best California JUCO prospect
- Scout: Three stars, 55th best JUCO prospect
- Rivals: Three stars (5.5)
And here's the Hudl tape.
Welcome to Cal, Khari! GO BEARS!
