Is this recruiting class going to be wrapped up by the fall? Despite two decommitments in the past few weeks, the California Golden Bears have landed a whopping four commitments in the span of one week in mid-June! Cal is now back up to ten early commits, which is definitely the fastest progress the program has made on a recruiting class in recent memory.
Blessed to announce I am officially committed to The University of California!! Thanks to my supporters! #CalGang16 pic.twitter.com/VGW4r2pgDc

The latest is Matt Laris, who becomes Cal's third wide receiver commit of the 2015 class. He joins Drew Kobayashi and Logan Gamble as part of one of the deepest corps in the country. Laris's major offer was Cal, with Air Force and Boise State also reaching out with offers. Laris took a recent unofficial to Berkeley and was sold enough on the trip to make his official commitment. Cal should be in a solid position in terms of overall wide receiver depth for a long time to come.
Here are the recruiting rankings for Laris.
- Rivals: Three stars (5.6), eighth best prospect in Washington
- Scout: Three stars, 115th best wide receiver
Here are the Hudl highlights.
Welcome to Cal, Matt! GO BEARS!
