The Bears (34-19) are back in the postseason (which is not a surprise if you have been following this team) and will head to College Station, TX to the Texas A&M Regional. The last time that the Bears were in the postseason and had to travel to Texas (to a regional hosted by Rice) this happened:

Bears did have to go through the loser's bracket in the Rice regional in 2011 (ending the collegiate career of Anthony Rendon at Rice in the process), not to mention the epic comeback against Baylor, to make that magical College World Series run.

This year, the Bears are the 3rd seed in the Texas A&M regional. They will open play on Friday at 10 AM PT against the 2nd seed in Coastal Carolina. Texas Southern is the 4th team in this regional. The game will be streamed on ESPN3. KALX may also have live coverage as one of the current broadcasters try to be the next Danny Fry.

Should the Bears survive the Texas A&M regional, they will play the winner out of the TCU regional. TCU grabbed the seventh of the eight regional seed, so in a way, this is a pretty favorable draw for us.

You can see the full bracket here.

This is how the team reacted to the news.

I'm sure NikJam will have a breakdown of this regional midweek. Check back to CGB for that.

GO BEARS!
