The rumors have been dashed. Cal will not be using white helmets in the 2015 season, much to the dismay (joy?) of many a Golden Bear.
Cal source confirms @BearInsider_com report: There will be no white helmets in 2015. Blue helmets, Cal script only pic.twitter.com/8JoDGYF5zu

With Cal looking like they're sticking to blue helmets for this season (not the one above, I think they go with a more subdued matte rather than chrome look), you shouldn't expect too much variety from our standard combinations. Cal wore blue tops and gold pants in pretty much every home game save for BYU (where they went blue-blue), switched it up for the Oregon 'home game' by going gold tops, blue pants, wore all gold against Arizona when the Wildcats attempted a white out at home, and I believe wore white tops, white pants in all other road contests.
Also, there will be no Joe Roth throwbacks (pictured above from the 2007 Cal-USC game) in the 2015 season. It's more likely that they make a return during the 2016 season.
#Cal football had hoped to wear Joe Roth throwback unis once this year but Nike is doing no throwbacks in 2015. Tentative plans for 2016.

If the Joe Roth uniforms return next year, expect them to make their appearance against the UCLA Bruins. Our home game against a Los Angeles school is usually the Joe Roth game each season.
And that is your yearly Cal football fashion update.
