Jaylen Brown reportedly deciding tonight between Michigan, Cal, Kentucky, North Carolina

Cal apparently has a shot.

Welp. It appears the nation's top recruit might be making his decision sometime in the next few hours. Jaylen Brown will reportedly make his decision after the high school banquet (via his team's basketball Twitter account).

Brown has been mum about the recruiting process for the most part. The nation's top national prospect has a final four of the Michigan Wolverines, California Golden Bears, Kentucky Wildcats and North Carolina Tar Heels. The buzz has mostly been centered around Michigan during the final week due to various factors (family, Adidas, coaching staff, etc.), but expect North Carolina and Kentucky to make strong pushes as well.

As for Cal?

Even though we're longshots, it's amazing that the Golden Bears are even in the picture for three of the top ten basketball recruits in the country. Caleb Swanigan came very close to being a Golden Bear before picking Michigan State, and Ivan Rabb is coming to Berkeley this fall as a huge centerpiece of Cuonzo Martin's first class. Even though Cal is an underdog pick for Brown, to even be in the conversation this late in the game is a huge step up for hoops recruiting, and could be a positive sign for the program's long-term future.
