I don't think anyone has any idea where exactly the top remaining hoops prospect (and potential #1 prospect overall from 2015) Jaylen Brown stands in his recruitment, who exactly his leaders are, and where the California Golden Bears are fitting into the picture, but they're just hanging around as other schools get cut.
Today, a big school was eliminated from Brown's top 5. And somehow Cal still remains. The Michigan Wolverines, Kentucky Wildcats, and North Carolina Tar Heels are the other three, as the Kansas Jayhawks drew the short end of the stick.

Now, if you believe in the Adidas connection (which still seems tenuous at best), this would immediately vault Michigan to the top of the heap. The Wolverines are the lone Adidas school remaining in the top four with Kansas out of the picture. Still, it's hard to imagine that would be a huge factor to dissuade Brown from considering the prestige of bluebloods like Kentucky and North Carolina.
And then there's Cal. Little old Cal, just trudging along thanks to the Ivan Rabb connection and the Cuonzo Martin relationship. Can the Bears pull out a titanic recruiting upset and vault themselves into national prominence in Martin's second year on the job?
We shall see.
