2015 NFL Draft

Auditorium Theatre, Chicago, Illinois

TV Schedule (ESPN, NFLN):

Round 1: Thursday, April 30, 2015 8:00 pm ET

Rounds 2 and 3: Friday, May 1, 2015, 7:00 pm ET

Rounds 4 thru 7: Saturday, May 2, 2015, 12:00 pm ET

Tonight marks the renewal of the most exciting off-the-field event the National Football League has on its calendar. The 2015 NFL Draft has its share of intrigue: for example, will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers choose Florida State's Jameis Winston with the first pick?  Will the Tennessee Titans then choose Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota with the second pick?  Or will the Titans trade out of the slot?  And if the latter, will Chip Kelly somehow find a way for his Philadelphia Eagles to land in the second slot and choose Mariota?  Questions, questions, questions, all of which will be answered today.

For the first time since 1963, the NFL Draft will take place in a city other than New York.  The NFL's traditional venue for the draft, NYC's Radio City Music Hall, was booked for the dates the NFL was considering for the draft, so the league looked for other cities to host the event.  Chicago, which was the last city other than New York to host the draft,  won the rights to host.

Just as in the last couple of years, the first day of the draft will encompass the first round only.  The second day will then feature rounds two and three, with bot the first and second day being broadcast in prime time. On the final day (Saturday), the NFL is changing things up a little bit.  Rounds four through seven will begin at noon Eastern time and although there will be an event held at the Auditorium Theatre, the teams will actually announce their draft picks from locations their own facilities around the country.

Will we see Cal players get drafted this year?  Leland previewed the Cal draft prospects.  We will not see any Golden Bears taken on the first day, and probably not on the second day.

Enjoy the draft.  Talk about it all right here.  No draft topics are off limits, even Mel Kiper's hair.
