The nation's potentially top recruit still does not know where he's going to attend college. But with the rumor mill swirling around Jaylen Brown that Cal is very much in the mix, we have no choice but to get hyped. The Golden Bears are apparently right there along with Michigan as the current favorites in the race, according to ESPN's Paul Biancardi.
Analyst: Could be Cal or U-M for five-star Jaylen Brown http://t.co/itFJt28fos via @freep

"When he gets in the paint and at the rim, you can't stop him. He can go over you, he can go around you. A great second jump, a jump shot that needs work. Sources close to his family told me, it could be Cal or it could be Michigan for his final destination. He has family up in Michigan, so stay tuned to that. Kansas and Kentucky want him as well. And North Carolina."
For those wondering if this is apocryphal, it's echoed in Biancardi's video at ESPN.
Brown's other schools in his current top 8: Kansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, UCLA, and North Carolina. There are definitely some formidable schools on that list.
So we're going to spending the next few weeks obsessing about it until he makes a decision. Brown has played his cards close to the vest: No one has any idea where he's going except Jaylen.

He also makes it clear that he has not cut his list, so we can't say Cal and Michigan are the final two either.
“No,” he said when asked if he was down to Cal and Michigan, as reported by ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.
No one knows if the Adidas school thing carries any weight. No one knows if he'd rather play at a blueblood. No one knows what is most important to him in his recruitment.
But if it is Cal and Michigan, you'd have to imagine that this statement comes to mind.
I know it's hard to imagine Brown picking Cal over all these other schools, but the Bears have gone big or gone home this cycle. They were in it with Caleb Swanigan until the final day, and they landed the local star in Ivan Rabb. Cuonzo Martin got Brown to visit on a few unofficials to Berkeley all the way out from his native Georgia. There is definite interest, even though Brown has .
At the moment, Cal is on the cusp of a top 25 hoops recruiting class, pending the arrival of Davon Dillard. If Cal does land Brown to go along with Ivan Rabb, Tyson Jolly and Dillard, they immediately have one of the top ten recruiting classes in the country, if not top 5. Both Rabb and Brown are potential one-and-done prospects and are considered lottery NBA draft prospects, and would make Cal a contender for many, many things next season. There is a lot of hope that they will come in and immediately elevate the Bears to premier status pretty quickly.
Buckle up for the end of Cal basketball recruiting madness 2015 Golden Bears. It's been one heck of a ride.
