Golden Nuggets: Boyd and Gray drafted in WNBA Draft

The two women's basketball legends were selected by the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx.

Men's Tennis

With the weight of the Big Slam on his shoulders - and No. 28 Cal and No. 24 Stanford tied at 3-3 - freshman Billy Griffith fought off Cardinal junior Nolan Paige to win, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4, and hand the Golden Bears the 4-3 victory on Saturday at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Women's Tennis

Denise Starr clinched No. 4 Cal's eventual 5-2 victory over No. 11 Stanford on Saturday at the Hellman Tennis Complex by upsetting the 18th-ranked Taylor Davidson, 6-3, 6-4,  to give the Golden Bears a 4-0 lead.

Sand Volleyball

Cal's No. 4 pair of freshman Mackenzie Feldman and Sammy Furlan won for the fourth time in five matches but the Bears' sand volleyball team dropped a pair of duals Saturday.


The Golden Bears defeated the United States Naval Academy, 57-15, Saturday in the national semifinals on Witter Rugby Field to earn California its third straight trip to the Penn Mutual Varsity Cup Rugby Championship final.

Track & Field

11 members of the California Golden Bears were in action on the first day of competition at the 57th Annual Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, California, on Friday.

Women's Golf

California begins its title hopes this weekend when the team competes at the Pac-12 Championships at the Boulder Country Club in Boulder, Col.


Denver took control early in Friday night's contest against the California women's lacrosse team, and the Pioneers went on to win, 17-5.

Men's Crew

No. 2 California men's crew swept its three races against No. 11 Wisconsin Saturday morning at its home course in Redwood Shores, Calif.


Cal yielded two infield single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning that led to two UCLA runs as the No. 3-ranked Bruins defeated the No. 16-ranked Golden Bears, 2-1.

UCLA shortstop Delaney Spaulding hit a walk-off two-run homer in the seventh inning to lift the No. 8 Bruins over No. 18 Cal 5-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Women's Baskletball

Many members of the Women's Basketball family were on hand to watch Brittany Boyd and Reshanda Gray be selected in the WNBA Draft.


The Golden Bears wrapped up spring football with a scripted spring game that didn't exactly go as planned.

Redshirt freshman Chase Forrest got a chance to shine in the spring game, throwing 12 for 16 for 124 yards and a touchdown.
