There was a bit of a last week alarm, but Cal held on to Little Rock (Ark.) Catholic For Boys defensive end Luc Bequette. The Cal commit has taken looks at Vanderbilt and most recently Florida the week before National Signing Day, but in the end he will stick with the Golden Bears.
Congrats to @bigbeq12 on signing with Cal. Great young man that comes from a great family.

Proud to be a #GoldenBear. This is going to be a great next 3-5 years. Thanks for the supporters. Next up... Prove everybody else wrong...

Bequette is crucial for Cal to augment our still questionable defensive line depth. He provides a big strong body on the interior who will have to develop quite a bit before he's ready to see the field. But once he's ready, there's a lot of promise. He has physical talent that will make him a contender for the two deep in the next few seasons.
Here are the rankings from Bequette.
- 247Sports: 3 stars (81), 74th weakside defensive end, 24th best Arkansas recruit
- ESPN: 3 stars (73), 100th defensive tackle, 14th best Arkansas recruit
- Scout: 3 stars
- Rivals: 2 stars (5.4)
