Cal is still looking to fill in slots for their 2016 hoops class, but 2017 is going to be a huge year with several seniors graduating the program. The Bears are already on the right path with two early commits from high school juniors that want to be in Berkeley in a year and a half.
Blessed beyond belief. I am proud to announce that I have chosen to go to the University of California Berkeley

Jemarl Baker committed on New year's Eve to the Golden Bears. He joins Alec Hickman as the second wing to become part of the 2017 class. The Eleanor Roosevelt High product from Corona, California is a 6'3" shooting guard that figures to provide the Bears with additional offensive punch; Baker is a pure shooter who can get his offensive flow humming in a hurry.
Baker is a three-star recruit by 247Composite and ranked among the top 25 of shooting guards and top 10 of California prospects in 2017. Watch his most recent highlights (a 30 point outburst against Chino Hills below). With both Jordan Mathews and Jabari Bird slated to graduate, Baker and Hickman could provide the new offensive nucleus for the Bears going forward.
Welcome to Cal Jemarl! GO BEARS!
