Go Bears!

Susan Ragan-USA TODAY Sports

The California Golden Bears will play their next-to-last home game against Oregon State. Cal is finally favored again after being the underdogs in four straight games and a brutal stretch of Pac-12 foes in October and early November. The line was originally 17.5 and is already up to 19.5 or 20 points.

Cal has had all sorts of trouble recently with Oregon State, winning only one game in a span of seven years against the Beavers from 2007 to 2013. Cal finally ended a long string of painful outings with one of their best performances of 2014, beating Oregon State 45-31 in Corvallis.

Cal can end one rather ignominious streak this week--the Bears haven't beaten the Beavers at Memorial Stadium since before the turn of the century, losing in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2013. Cal did beat Oregon State in AT&T Park in 2011, but it would be nice to bury that one exasperating piece of history from our memories.
