After being put on indefinite leave, Sark has been handed his walking papers too. The USC Trojans have terminated the contract of head coach Steve Sarkisian. Barring weirdness, offensive coordinator Clay Helton will be the coach the rest of the year.
I don't know if this means good things for our matchup with USC in a few weeks. It could mean the Bears will be facing a more energetic Trojan squad who will play up the "us against the world". It could mean USC is a rudderless ship teetering on the edge after playing two hard-fought games with Utah and Notre Dame. Cal vs. USC feels like a really unpredictable game at the moment. That probably won't change until we take the field.
One of the most frustrating things for Cal fans: Sarkisian finishes his Pac-12 coaching stint undefeated against the Bears. 6-0. That is definitely one of the more frustrating record I'd have liked to seen broken before this season.
Thoughts everyone?
