Friday Bowls Open Thread

January 1 was an interesting, if not historic, day in college football bowl games. But the bowls aren't over! Settle in for more hot bowl action.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

It was a Happy New Year indeed for college football on January 1.  The college football playoff brought us an Oregon beat down of defending national champion Florida State in the Rose Bowl and an Ohio State upset over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.  So after all that college football playoff stuff, we have a traditional Pac-12 vs. B1G Rose Bowl matchup in the national championship game.  Perhaps we should just call it the Rose Bowl II.

We have 10 more days to wait for that one, though.  In the meantime, there are more college football bowls to be played, including four games today, two of which feature Pac-12 teams.

Enjoy today's bowls.  Talk about them here: this is your day's open thread.  If you want to catch up on the bowl games you have missed or check out the schedule of future bowls, just see below and click on the handy dandy scheduling tool that SB Nation has given to us.
