With all the transfers, departures, and general retirements last season, the roster situation is far from satisfactory for anyone, especially at defensive line and in the secondary. Call them patchwork solutions, call them reinforcements, but with James Looney, Chris Palmer, and the newly committed Mesa Community College (Ariz.) cornerback AJ Greathouse, you can't say the staff's sitting still on trying to improve the state of things.

And like the previous two names, the 6'0, 180 pound Greathouse -- who had no real offers or visibility out of high school -- will be available to play this fall after spending last year at a community college, throwing him directly in the mix at a position where no starters have been locked down yet.
Boy, recruiting never truly does stop, huh? All credit to Cal Rivals for reporting this first, a month ago.
'14 CB @AJGreathouse5 picked up a #Cal offer Sunday, says he's on the verge of committing. Would be avail this Fall: https://t.co/eJdg9Nefbt
