Cal football recruiting commit: Johnny Capra, Placer offensive tackle

Let's make it two for the weekend.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Thank you, sirs, and I will have another. Fresh off of a camp they held on campus Saturday, the Bears were in action again Sunday at Fullerton, where they added a second weekend commitment -- and a second offensive lineman -- thanks to Johnny Capra, out of Auburn.

Fight for California is such a nice phrase, and we got to hear them twice this weekend. Welcome, Johnny!

We'll of course get into the film later, but here's a fun fact from Cal Rivals about him that should get everybody excited:

A reported 3.75 GPA student, Capra is very, very excited about the academic program, as well:

Ah, and of course, I can't leave out this juicy detail -- he's got a younger brother, too, who we just offered yesterday. Already making inroads into the class of 201(7?), because it's never too early to do stuff like that.

The rankings:

Rivals: 3 star, 71st ranked player in California

Scout: 3 star, 91st ranked tackle

ESPN: Not ranked

247sports: Not ranked

Capra's rankings are odd because he isn't listed on the 247sports composite at all, but with senior years still to be played, I wouldn't worry too much about things like that at this juncture anyway.

Work's starting back up for me so I can't promise that I'll have a scouting report ready for Tuesday, but that's what we're looking at currently.
