Unlike the Men, the NCAA National Title is determined by the combination of the race results for the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, and the Varsity 4 (part of the reasons why the Men's Crew is run separately from the NCAA to uphold its tradition). The Golden Bears are actually the defending champs in the main Varsity 8 race from last year. They are again in decent shape with all boats in the Grand Finals (although the same can be said for other top contenders like defending champs Ohio State, Brown, and Stanfurd).

Golden Bears have won 3 NCAA titles in women's crew - they came in 1980, 2005, and 2006.
