Brady White decision coming Friday

New, comments

Cal and ASU are the reported finalists.

Will California land one of the top California prospects of the 2015 QB recruiting class? It will all be decided tomorrow when Newhall (Ca.) Hart QB Brady White makes the call, likely between Cal and Arizona State.

White has been high on Cal's radar ever since Josh Rosen committed to UCLA. Jake Browning also received interest, but he eventually decided to join Chris Petersen in Washington. Tyler Hilinski was a potential next option if the Bears didn't get any of their top three QBs, but he also made the trek north, committing to Mike Leach and Washington State.

With those three off the table, Cal's main target was White, and fans can be anything but certain here. Cal has been in the lead for awhile, but Arizona State has made the late push, they received a second visit this weekend, and a decision is being made this weekend. You connect the dots and tell me if you feel good about Cal's chances.

Cal did recruit two quarterbacks from last year in Luke Rubenzer and Chase Forrest, but the Bears need to stack up on quarterback depth in a hurry considering we have no one trusted outside of Jared Goff.

(The Goff situation may also be a major impediment in QB recruiting, given that Goff started as a freshman, is trusted by the coaching staff. and at the moment has a good shot at playing and starting for a four year track at Cal a la Kyle Boller. With a lot of quarterbacks movement coming from the aforementioned schools and Goff/Rubenzer likely to battle the next few seasons, it makes sense for them to consider other schools.)

It's hard to figure out who the next quarterback up for the Bears will be if White decides to go to Tempe. Kyle Kearns attracted some interest but I'm unsure if there's anything substantive there. Cal might end up scrambling to find the quarterback they want in this class.

Where do you think White ends up? Make some picks!
