How the team is currently doing (from CalBears.com):
At the halfway point of the season, the Bears have three players tied at the top of the team leaderboard with 21 points each - Paige Gasparino, Gaby Christman and Bella Huther. Huther, a true freshman, has scored all of her points with goals. Lizz Lavie leads the team in assists with 12, while Nicole Beck is right behind her with 10. Christman leads the team in draws (29), ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (17).
Bears are in the midst of a 4 game losing streak, which includes an East Coast trip (apparently the Bears were just in my backyard 1.5 week ago and I completely missed it). I don't know if Oregon have challenged themselves as much as the Bears, so the discrepancy in record may not mean much.
By the way, Lacrosse is not currently an Olympic Sports but we don't have a special group for it (unlike Baseball and Softball).
All the usual home Cal Lacrosse games are streamed (free and live) online, even though CGB (or me, specifically) have not been very diligent in making open threads for them.
Cal's next game is Sunday at 1pm when they host USC. That game is also Senior Day (even though there is another home game later in the season...but that's midweek). For those who aren't local, there will be a live stream for it.
GO BEARS!
