Jake Browning visits Cal, Nebraska offers Brady White, Josh Rosen picks UCLA

We could be down to two top targets, with plenty of options behind them.

The Cal quarterback recruiting carousel rides on!

As expected, Bellflower (Ca.) St. John Bosco quarterback Josh Rosen ended up picking the UCLA Bruins yesterday. After USC and Ricky Town linked up and a certain Farm didn't show enough interest, it was only a matter of time before Rosen decided to stick in Los Angeles with the rising program of the Pac-12.

It would have been nice to land Rosen (who really liked Cal by all accounts), but the Bears are in too much of a messy situation to really be considered a destination spot for someone who might be the number one recruit in college football.

So now we have two main targets for our next quarterback: Folsom (Ca.) quarterback Jake Browning and Newhall (Ca.) Hart quarterback Brady White are the big targets on the board. Both of them are becoming more popular by the second though. Let's take a look at each player's offer sheet as of late:

  • White: Cal (January 28), Maryland (February 13), Penn State (Feb. 18), Louisville (Feb. 25), Arizona State (Feb. 27), San Diego State (March 11)
  • Browning: Cal (January 29), Boise State (February 14), Oklahoma State (February 21), San Jose State (February 28), Washington visit (March 7, offered last summer), Alabama (March 11)

As you can see, things have picked up in the last month for both quarterbacks, and there will be some stiff competition.

Browning is nearing his own decision date, and it seems promising that he took a trip to Cal recently.

White has always been high on the Bears as well, and he definitely has them among his favorites. But if the Furd decide to take a peak at White, things could change there pretty quickly. He also picked up a few new offers too.

So we'll have to see with both QBs. Keep in mind Browning's high school coach is Cal great Troy Taylor!
