On St. Patrick's Day, the Golden Bears found out that they may have Irish in their future. Bears are the 7 seed team in the Notre Dame Region with top seed being Notre Dame (who are ranked 2nd in the country). To get there, the Bears would first have to travel to Waco, Texas to face Fordham (winner of the A-10 tournament for the automatic bid) first with a "battle of the Bears" looming in the second round (it's technically the winner between the home team Baylor and Western Kentucky).
Should the Bears make it to South Bend, IN for the Notre Dame region, it would likely be Kentucky (3 seed) in Sweet Sixteen before a possible date with Notre Dame in the Elite Eight.
The 2014 Final Four takes place in Nashville, TN.
The path is not easy, but it could have been worse.
