Pac-12 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships
When: 7:30 PM PT (tape delayed from last weekend)
TV: Pac-12 Networks
Spoiler alert: Bears won their second consecutive Pac-12 Championships in men's swimming and diving after snapping Stanfurd's 31 year hold on the title last year.
(This is a fun video.)
Watch the Pac-12 Networks coverage tonight with Calympian Nathan Adrian serving as color commentator for the swimming portion.
While I can't find a definitive list of Cal Bears who have qualified for the NCAA's either through the competition or through time trials, I think the Bears are pretty satisfied with regards to that.
It is also nice to note that Cal's individual winners, freshman Ryan Murphy (twice for 100 Back and 200 Back) and sophomore Josh Prenot for 400 IM, are still young. The presence of Harvard transfer Chuck Katis who is a much needed breast stroker have had significant impact for the Bears both in scoring points in breast events as well as performing better in the medley relays (freeing up the also awesome Prenot for another stroke). The Bears will look to improve on their 2nd place finish last season at the NCAA's.
The big fish is of course the NCAA championships. The 2014 NCAA Championships will take place in Austin, Texas from March 27-29. The entire meet is typically available to be streamed online through the NCAA (fort the first couple days) and then on ESPN3. Check back here for open threads for both that and for the women's NCAA which will take place one week earlier in Minneapolis, MN.
GO BEARS!
