Hamilton Anoa'i signs with Cal, faxes letter of intent

Junipero Serra defensive end Hamilton Anoa'i officially became a California Golden Bear by sending in his letter of intent.

It's been barely a day since Hamilton Anoa'i flipped from Northwestern to Cal, and now he's faxing in his letter of intent to be a California Golden Bear. The San Mateo (Ca.) Junipero Serra athlete has the potential to play multiple positions at the next level, although he's most likely to come in as a linebacker and try and boost up a defense in need of a lot of depth at the position.

Anoa’i was part of a Serra team that won a West Catholic Athletic League co-title. He played both sides of the ball when his team won a Central Coast Section Open title. As a 6-foot-2, 225-pound receiver, he caught 26 passes for 516 yards and 10 touchdowns. He played multiple positions like safety, wide receiver, and tight end. He definitely has the build that could work either way, but expect him to be defense early on.
