Noah Westerfield officially sent in his letter of intent to the California Golden Bears today, giving Cal another much needed defensive end in this recruiting class. Westerfield should be part of the future of the Golden Bears once he grows and develops his frame, although at the moment there’s a lack of senior highlights.

Westerfield was originally a commit to Northwestern, but at the tail end of his recruitment began reconsidering his decision. He then decided to take an official to Cal, which meant there would be no chance of backtracking and going to Northwestern (think Ray Davison). The Frisco (Tx.) defensive end product then eventually decided to became a Bear a few weeks before Signing Day on the tail end of his visit to the Bay.

Here are the Hudl video highlights (almost all from junior year) for Westerfield. His current rankings are below.

  • ESPN: 3 stars, 74th best outside linebacker, 125th best Texas recruit
  • Scout: 3 stars, 79th best outside linebacker
  • 247Sports: 3 stars, 74th best outside linebacker, 136th best Texas recruit
