Aisea Tongilava signs with Cal, faxes letter of intent

Lutheran linebacker Aisea Tongilava officially became a California Golden Bear on National Signing Day by sending in his letter of intent.

Aisea Tongilava officially secured his commitment to the California Golden Bears by sending in his letter of intent earlier today. Tongilava became one of a few crucial flips late in the 2014 recruiting class. Tongilava was originally committed to San Jose State, but then received a few additional offers and decided to reopen his recruitment. Tongilava would eventually choose Cal after his official visit.

Tongilava is a little raw in terms of physical stature and ability, but if he puts it together he could end up being one of the most talented players here. When he’s decisive he usually makes the play and can sometimes make game-changing plays when he’s on the field. The Santa Ana (Ca.) Lutheran linebacker could be a force to be reckoned with down the road.
