Must Reads
John Porchivina made his commitment to the California Golden Bears official by sending in his letter of intent earlier this morning. Porchivina committed to Fresno State initially in December. Eventually, he decided in the final weeks that Cal was the place he wanted to attend school, flipping to the Bears in late January.
The Petaluma (Ca.) Casa Grande athlete played both outside linebacker and running back in high school, but Cal wants him solely for the defensive side of the field. Porchivina projects as a good athlete and might be suited more for the outside linebacker spot. If he can learn discipline and gain weight he could end up being a real steal at the eleventh hour for the Bears.
You can check out Porchivina’s senior highlights on Hudl. Here are his rankings.
